To comply with COSHH Regulation 9 all reusable respirators must have an ongoing programme of maintenance, servicing and administration.
deMaskas can provide a bespoke maintenance programme. This programme provides each employee with:-
- Respirators with an individual reference number linked to the employee
- An assessment of the equipment to be serviced outlining any damage
- Non conformance reports which will aid employers to identify potential training needs e.g. Inappropriate use of equipment or non use of equipment
- A Maintenance record for each respirator linked to the employee which accumulates over the year to show any damage to the RPE and/or replaced components
- Set collection and delivery dates to fit with your shift patterns
Maintenance – servicing and administration
Once your employee’s respirator has been fitted, an ongoing programme of maintenance, servicing and records administration must take place to meet the COSHH regulation 9, throughout the provision of RPE equipment to that employee.
deMaskas provides each individual employee and business/organisation with:
- Their own respirator ID, and a fully administrated servicing routine
- A secondary respirator/equipment for servicing/maintenance rotation and backup
- Reports summarising the items of equipment which have been cleaned
- Collection date reminders for subsequent servicing sessions
- Record cards showing maintenance, servicing, and replacement activities for each employee
- Non conformance reports
The reporting system highlights any training needs e.g. Misuse of equipment or non use of equipment
Servicing of the respirators is carried out by hand to maintain the highest standards, including full visual inspections. A second respirator is in use at the same time to provide full access to the necessary RPE at all times.
